The story
Sea legends from many parts of the world tell of islands that turn out to be living creatures — giants asleep among the waves for so long that forests have grown on their backs.
"Lost Island" retells this idea as a quiet fairy tale: a girl on the shore senses that something ancient and kind is breathing beneath the fields and forests. At night the ground sometimes trembles, and the sea keeps the secret.
Only at the end is the secret revealed — the people live on the back of an ancient giant that wanders the ocean and carries them toward eternity.
