The story
Coeurl is the beast from A. E. van Vogt's classic science-fiction story "Black Destroyer" — a predator from a dead planet that hunts among the stars.
The song is told by a human on board: the dead cosmos surrounds them, the signal is lost, broken ships drift alone, and the immortal beast tracks every step. But there is no fear in her eyes — she carries a little light and will not surrender.
